Remarks:
Good size and color. Upper and lower lip chipped, siphon and stromb lobe chipped. Apex gone. Some bore holes in the spire and one in the last whorl. Some erosion. Still nicely colored and nicely sized specimen.
Note: According to the DNA research published by Irwin et al, 2024, Strombus alatus Gmelin, 1791 is synonymous with Strombus pugilis Linnaeus, 1758. We follow the latest publication and put Strombus alatus as form of Strombus pugilis.
