Remarks:
Good size and color. Upper lip rough, siphon and stromb lobe chipped. Some bore holes in the spire and one near the lip. Some erosion on the spines. Still nicely colored and nicely sized specimen.
Note: According to the DNA research published by Irwin et al, 2024, Strombus alatus Gmelin, 1791 is synonymous with Strombus pugilis Linnaeus, 1758. We follow the latest publication and put Strombus alatus as form of Strombus pugilis.
