Remarks:
Good size and color. Some minor damage on the callous of the lip, siphon and stromb lobe chipped. Some knobs damaged. 4 bore holes near the lip, of which 2 are easy to miss. Still nicely colored and nicely sized specimen.
Note: According to the DNA research published by Irwin et al, 2024, Strombus alatus Gmelin, 1791 is synonymous with Strombus pugilis Linnaeus, 1758. We follow the latest publication and put Strombus alatus as form of Strombus pugilis.
